📑 How to File Income Tax Return (ITR) Online

  • 1 Portal Access: Visit Income Tax Portal and log in using your credentials.
  • 2 Download Form 26AS & AIS: Verify Annual Information Statement (AIS) and Form 26AS to cross-check TDS deducted by employer/banks.
  • 3 Select Appropriate ITR Form: Choose ITR-1 (Sahaj) for salaried/single house property, or ITR-4 (Sugam) for presumptive business income.
  • 4 Verify Income & Deductions: Validate pre-filled salary data, interest income, and claim 80C, 80D, or HRA deductions if opting for the Old Regime.
  • 5 E-Verify Return: Submit the return and immediately e-verify using OTP, NetBanking, or Bank EVC to complete filing.

💡 Essential Tax Deductions (Section 80C, 80D & More)

  • ✔️ Section 80C (Up to ₹1.5 Lakhs): EPF, PPF, ELSS Mutual Funds, Life Insurance Premium, Home Loan Principal, National Savings Certificate (NSC).
  • ✔️ Section 80D (Health Insurance): Deductions up to ₹25,000 for self/family and an additional ₹25,000 (or ₹50,000 for senior citizens) for parents' health insurance.
  • ✔️ Section 80CCD(1B) (NPS): Additional tax benefit up to ₹50,000 over and above the ₹1.5 Lakh 80C limit for National Pension System contributions.

📋 How to File GST Returns Online (GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B)

  • 1 Portal Login: Visit Goods and Services Tax Portal and log in with your credentials.
  • 2 Returns Dashboard: Go to Services ➔ Returns ➔ Returns Dashboard and select Financial Year & Month.
  • 3 File GSTR-1: Enter details of sales invoices, credit notes, and B2B/B2C transactions. Submit and sign via EVC or DSC.
  • 4 Verify GSTR-2B: Review auto-populated Input Tax Credit (ITC) from supplier invoices.
  • 5 File GSTR-3B: Verify total tax liability, offset tax using available ITC, pay remaining tax via Challan, and file return.

💼 GST Registration Eligibility & Slab Rates

Turnover Thresholds:

  • ✔️ Goods Suppliers: Mandatory registration if turnover exceeds ₹40 Lakhs (₹20 Lakhs for Special States).
  • ✔️ Service Providers: Mandatory registration if turnover exceeds ₹20 Lakhs (₹10 Lakhs for Special States).
  • ✔️ Interstate / E-commerce Sellers: Mandatory registration regardless of turnover limit.

GST Slabs Breakdown:

  • 5%: Household essentials, packaged food, apparel under ₹1000.
